Memorial Day

Do you know the real reason we celebrate Memorial Day? It has a much deeper meaning than being the kick-off to the start of summer.

Originally Memorial Day was known as Decoration Day, to honor the Union and the Confederate soldiers who died during the American Civil War. By the 1900s it had become a day to celebrate all American soldiers who died while serving in the military. In 1967 it was legally named Memorial Day and became a federal holiday in 1971.

Have a wonderful day and thank you to all our American soldiers!
