Munch & Music Series at Bend’s Drake Park
Enjoying the great things that Central Oregon has to offer as told by a local: One of my favorite things to do during the summer months is to take my daughter to the Munch and Music free concerts at Drake Park in Bend, Oregon. It is a great place to go during the cool, Central Oregon evenings The event is completely free and I definitely recommend taking a blanket along so you can sit on the grass while enjoying the many different bands that come to play.
Munch and Music is a weekly series, with festivities starting at 5:30 pm every Thursday, running July through August. The evening kicks off with an opening band and then a headline band – in between sets you can grab some food, visit a vendor, etc… You can purchase an all evening pass for the little ones to jump in the bounce houses while you sit back and enjoy the music. There is beer provided by Deschutes Brewery and food vendors from all over. There are also some really great sponsors of the event there to show off all the great things Bend has to offer. Tumalo Creek Kayak and Canoe has a set up at the site so you can float down the river from the spot right there in the park.
Munch and Music does get a lot of people who attend so finding a great parking space may be hard. If you park down a side road, remember which one so you don’t lose your car! One thing to be mindful of is that dogs are not allowed into the event due to the City restrictions.
