Autumn is an amazing time to go for a hike around Sunriver & Central Oregon!
The mornings and evenings are clear and cool, with the afternoons warming up to enjoy a hike.
You’ll want to put these hikes at the top of your list before the trails close for the season.
Green Lakes … one of the most popular trails in the summer. A visit in the Autumn will give you a reprieve from the crowds and mosquitos! Be sure to visit before the snow starts falling and Cascade Lakes Highway closes around mid-November.
Broken Top Crater … looking for a challenge? The reward is a panoramic view of the Cascades.
If you’ve already done these hikes or you feel like venturing away from the Cascades then give the Ochocos a try! Options include hikes at Lookout Mountain, Black Canyon Trail, and Steins Pillar.
