The downstairs king bedroom with attached bathroom - the shower is VERY small and the shower head fills the entire space but the pressure is terrible. Might be nice to have a different nozzle that is smaller circumference and more able to point in different directions, especially for leg shaving!!

Hi Chris, Thank you so much for this feedback! We will pass it along to the team and they will assess! We hope you had a wonderful stay.

Fantastic house with flaws.

Michael - Twin Falls

We returned for our second year in a row for a week in 4 Dixie Mountain. It suits our group size (6-9) and composition quite well. The beds got mixed reviews but were generally decent. The kitchen was well stocked with basic, quality cooking utensils including knives, pots and pans, etc. The gas oven and stove work quite well but the former takes a bit to figure out. The house layout is great for us and includes a big, open kitchen/dining/living room space. The downstairs has another nice family room with a very nice pool table. There are a few major flaws. The HVAC system is controlled by a thermostat on the upper floor. Increasing the temperature upstairs means that those staying below (most of the bedrooms) will be roasted like turkeys as the upstairs gets comfortable. And once the upstairs temperature matched the thermostat, heat was turned off and the downstairs residents froze. The lighting circuits are diverse and effective. Problem is, switch location was determined by what seems to be a committee of drunken, argumentative monkeys. For instance, you might think that the garage light switch would be in the garage or just inside the door. Instead, it is on the far side of the adjacent mud room. There are other such examples. At least Bennington has done a good job of labeling the switches but expect a learning curve. We loved the pool table, it is of high quality and balls rolled true. Sadly, it is oriented across the room instead of on the long axis. As it is, it is difficult to play from either end which greatly impedes play and can result in the wall of an adjacent bedroom getting banged by sticks. The current setup maximizes the TV seating but we would MUCH prefer a couch move or disappear and the table be spun 90 degrees. The garage is great for gear but was too short for any of us to park in. A Miata would fit nicely. But there is an extra refrigerator in there and a good number of bicycles (no helmets). Importantly, the hot tub was excellent. We may be back next year. But we will have to discuss whether or not the HVAC system is worth putting up with. It really is a major design flaw. Were that rectified and the pool table oriented as a priority, this would be our favorite place by far out of a history of 20+ quality houses.

Hi Michael, Thank you for such a wonderful and thorough review of 4 Dixie. It's because of guests like you that provide such great feedback that we are able to improve our services and the quality of our homes every day. Our team is taking a look at the furnace and the re-positioning of the pool table. We'll look forward to welcoming you back again!

Be patient with the stove and be aware the neighbours are very particular about dog poop being picked up immediately.

First of all, Thank you for accomodating our request. It made our stay more enjoyable. The place was spotless and well furnished. All the furniture was comfortable and decorated nicely. I love the view from the living room and the game room with the pool table was great fun. We had a toddler and he loved the big space and it was mostly baby proof. The kitchen was well stocked and had everything we needed to make meals and drinks which was great since we ate in due to Covid. They had a market within walking distance with a full range of everything we needed. Also, There were nice trails to go for a walk nearby and the hot tub was great afterward.

The home is pet friendly which is a great amenity. In our case however, it was obvious pets had been with the previous occupants as there was hair on the furniture and poops out on both decks, etc. I don't fault the management company as much as the previous renters for not keeping their animals off the furniture and not picking up after themselves.

I booked this home for a family getaway with our son, my parents, brother, his wife, and their son for a 3rd birthday celebration for the two boys. 4 Dixie Mtn was lovely - super clean and had great separation of space for our 3 families! My brother was able to bring their dog, too. My older parents appreciated the upstairs/main floor master bedroom and the other two couples didn't have to fight over the other rooms as both were well-appointed with attached bathrooms. The boys had a "sleepover" in the large bonus room and when one didn't do so well the first night, there was plenty of room in the king bedroom closet for his mat on night 2. Loved cooking meals in the spacious kitchen (especially the Wolf range). The enclosed deck off the living room was perfect for watching the boys play in the fresh snow from the windows without having to worry! This was a very quiet location with nearby access to the bike paths. We will book this home again!

What a wonderful place to stay! The house was absolutely perfect for our retreat. Nine of us stayed and we had plenty of room to gather or spread out. The kitchen was VERY well stocked with quality items. We had everything we needed to make lots of delicious meals! We had good internet service and didn't have any trouble with streaming music, movies and a conference. Used the bikes a couple times and they are very comfortable and an easy ride. The trails are beautiful! Overall a lovely experience.

The management office employees were consistently amazing at every turn, providing assistance with an impeccably upbeat and positive attitude. They are all to be commended. The cleaning staff really missed the mark on the kitchen. While the company sent out cleaners to the house shortly after we called about the problem, this really isn't something that should have been necessary in the first place. The counters were visibly smeared with food. We understand that it's hard to clean a house of this size, but removing food stains from the kitchen is certainly a basic starting point for cleanliness. Overall, the house definitely photographs better than it shows. The obvious renovations to this older home have created a home with extremely uneven quality levels throughout the house. The common areas (kitchen, upstairs living room, and downstairs bonus room) have generally been finished to a reasonably nice level. The bedrooms and bathrooms were far more uneven. Here are the major issues: (1) Carpet: While new carpet has been installed throughout the lower level of the house, old and stained carpet remains in the stairway and the upstairs master bedroom. When we opened the door, we were immediately hit with the unpleasant sweet-sour smell of old carpet which is something we've not experienced at any other rental in recent memory. (2) Under Cabinet Lighting: In the otherwise nicely appointed kitchen, the sloppy under cabinet lighting sticks out like a sore thumb because (a) it's literally being held up by duct tape and (b) half of the lights are burned out. (3) Bathroom Configuration: The downstairs jack-and-jill bathroom contains a full-length glass door that opens out to the hot tub and, more importantly, looks directly into every window on the back of the house next door. Given that we were clearly visible to the neighbors when we stood in the shower stall, we had to close the pocket door each time we showered, then wrap ourselves enough to walk into the sink area with the glass door, and then attempt to get ready while remaining covered. This made it seem more like camping than staying in a nice vacation home. (4) HVAC System: During the warmer months, the single-zone HVAC system consistently kept the upper lever warm and the lower level incredibly cold. Upon our arrival, every single floor vent on the lower level was closed in an effort to push more of the AC to the top level. It doesn't work. For the duration of our stay, the bottom floor had to be kept uncomfortably cold so that people on the top floor weren't extremely hot. Even our teen boys who usually complain about nothing kept asking if we could do something about the temperature as they sat bundled up in blankets downstairs. In August. (5) Bedding: While setting up the sofa couch in the downstairs queen bedroom, I unfolded the mattress to find the mattress pad covered in fine debris. Then after a 30-minute search for a clean sheet, we discovered that there wasn't a sheet, flat or fitted, available anywhere in the house to cover the sofa bed. We eventually used a blanket as a base layer for the bed and then had to stop by the management office the next day to pick up the needed sheets. Extremely nasty and inconvenient. (6) Cleaning: Immediately at check-in, we discovered that the kitchen counters were extremely dirty. We're not talking about a missed section here or there or being overly particular about the level of cleanliness. They were visibly smeared with food and when you rubbed your hand over the surface, it was clear that they were dirty even where the food wasn't visible. I called the management office right away, and they sent out two workers right away to get the kitchen counters cleaned. While the management office later refunded our cleaning fee, which we greatly appreciated, it certainly got our vacation off to a bad start. Overall, we don't think that this home compares well to others we've rented at this price point.

Hi Tim, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We strive to provide our guests with sparkling clean homes, and I'm sorry our team missed the mark on this occasion. Your feedback has been shared with the team so we can continue to improve and offer the best guest experience possible. I'm glad our office staff took good care of you to resolve this, and as you said, that shouldn't have been necessary in the first place. I wanted to follow up and let you know that I went out to the property to assess the other issues you mentioned. The upstairs carpet has since been cleaned and there is no noticeable smell. The under cabinet light bulbs have been replaced. We did find a piece of duct tape under there which was removed as it was serving no purpose, and I verified that the brackets were all secure. In regards to the jack-n-jill bathroom, there is a pocket door that I would advise closing for privacy when showering, and we can certainly suggest to the owner to install a window shade for privacy at the sink. Thank you for reaching out, Tim, we appreciate you and hope to welcome you back soon.

Thank You 2019-09-15

The room configurations worked well for 3 couples to each have their own space. The rec room is a nice getaway space for watching a movie or playing pool. We liked the open kitchen, dining, great room which was great for socializing. The updated kitchen was well equipped. It is an interesting layout to say the least. With multiple Jack & Jill configurations, there's an updated bathroom around every corner. It takes a bit to find your way around. You have to stay here just for the adventure of matching up the light switches with the lights.

It is a great place as a base camp for a family reunion or celebration event. This was our 50th wedding anniversary, and the rental home was perfect for all the comings and goings of family and friends during our week-long stay. We have used Bennington Properties for rentals for many years (decades really), and they have never disappointed us in the quality of the homes or the quick responsiveness in their services. We will likely use them again in the future. We loved the iPhone App with all the pin numbers, check-in and check-out instructions, and other usefull information; well done!

I would recommend this house and Bennington for your stay.
