Andrew, Professional Housekeeper
Andrew Storm has been a professional housekeeper with Bennington Properties since the Spring of 2016. However, he has worked in the industry for the last 14 years. Andrew is also qualified in maintenance, roofing, painting, and landscaping. So, chances are he’s had a hand in most facets that make our guests’ stay more enjoyable. His ability to take on as much work as we give him proves he a vital asset to the Bennington Team.
Andrew was born on the East Coast in Providence, Rhode Island, but is proud to be raised in Central Oregon. As a La Pine native, he graduated from La Pine High School. Go Hawks! Andrew continues to enjoy the Central Oregonian environment and lifestyle. He touts the wildlife and scenery that surrounds us as perfect reason for staying.
“I really like the privacy here and how it’s so spread out. It’s really a very pretty place.”
Andrew lives with his wife and young daughter, and soon, another girl to fill the house. In addition to spending time with the family, he enjoys music and playing guitar and ukulele. As a child, Andrew rode dirt bikes on the trails surrounding the area and has recently taken up the sport again.
One of the reasons Andrew has come to appreciate Central Oregon even more stems from a recent trip to China with his wife and daughter. They went to visit his wife’s family—mom, dad, and sister—in the small village where they are all from. While he very much enjoyed the extended vacation, Andrew could’ve done without the noise level and the poor air quality in China’s cities. Sometimes, absence from your hometown makes the heart grow fonder!
Andrew calls spring his favorite season. He loves how it washes the winter’s snow away and leads everyone into summer. But, because school’s not out yet, it’s not quite as busy and crazy around here.
For the last two years, Andrew has enjoyed working for Bennington Properties and his interactions with coworkers and guests. He appreciates the close knit community created at Bennington and how it isn’t a chore to get up and go to work.
"I love the people who work here. Everybody is really nice and we take care of each other. We work really hard and are rewarded for it.”
Andrew’s Perfect Spring Day
Andrew’s idea of a nice way to spend a spring day starts with a trip to BaseCamp Grill for a breakfast hamburger. Then, he grabs his fishing gear and heads to Wickiup Reservoir. His second favorite spot to catch some brown trout (he’s not telling where his favorite spot is) is out of the Sheep Bridge Campground. If there’s time, Andrew will ride out the day on his dirt bike.
