"Entertaining
over 100 students is what got us hooked on
vacationing in Sunriver. Before buying our
own place, we visited several times a year
for many years to chaperon students from all
over the world. We'd all ski the slopes at
Mount Bachelor, sled the hills or paddle
down a raging rapids. Twenty years later we
are still enjoying Sunriver's beauty, many
amenities and the safe, family-friendly
environment.
Our Sunriver
adventures now include making great
memories with our grand daughter; like
winter sledding, the horse-pulled sleigh
rides, holiday cookie making, seeing the
gingerbread houses and sitting on Santa's
lap. We love to look out the windows that
surround the top of our cozy living room and
admire the icicles and the snow flakes, and
sometimes we catch a glimpse of a
curious squirrel peering in at us or the
deer grazing just off our deck.
Our grand baby will
soon be old enough for the swimming lessons
and riding her bike to one of the many fine
youth camps our (now grown) son used to
enjoy. Of course, we'll be close, creating
our own adventures (like kayaking more of
the nearby serene lakes or relaxing with a
book) until camp is over and daylight lends
us a few more hours of grand baby playtime
together.
We love the charm of
our home-away-from home in Sunriver and
sharing it with family, friends, and those
who want to refresh and recharge, be it
relaxing in the air conditioned house,
soaking in the hot tub or pulling out the
bikes to take a joy ride. And when we want a
large crowd, Bennington rents out many other
homes in our circle, enough for a huge
family reunion that allows our home to be
used for a cozy, two-bedroom holiday haven!
