Horseback Riding

Are you ready to walk bow legged for the rest of your stay?  Do you want to explore parts of Sunriver very few people see?  Well then you better bring your cowboy hat and spurs and be ready for a ride you will never forget (tennis shoes and baseball cap work just fine).  With over 100 head of horses you are sure to find that perfect steed to ride off into the sunset with.

Sunriver Stables, located along the Deschutes River (just a yards away from the Sunriver Marina) offers a wide range of equestrian experiences including; pony rides, half-hour to 8 hour trail rides, lessons, hay wagon rides, sleigh rides and merchandise.

Guided trail rides are available for guests of all experience levels from beginner to advanced riders. Instruction is provided prior to all rides, and riding helmets are available. Minimum age for half-hour and one-hour trail rides is 7. Longer rides, minimum age is 10.

Pony Town is a fun way for the little buckaroos ages 2-6 to enjoy the Stables! The adorable Shetland ponies are just the right size for the little rider. Pony rides are on a first-come, first served-basis.

Learn what its like to be a real cowboy or cowgirl:  Whether you want to learn the basics of grooming, saddling and riding, or just want to polish up your riding skills, Sunriver Stables offers all levels of instruction. All lessons are private and take place out on the trail or in an arena environment.
