Old Fashioned July 4th Celebration & Pet Parade...

If you are looking for a special way to celebrate July 4th, start the day with Bend's most historical event, the Pet Parade, where children of all ages bring their special pet (we've seen dogs - large & small, llamas, horses, lizards, goats, and lots of stuffed animals) to parade through downtown Bend. It's one of the most unique parades you'll ever see! Decorating and lineup starts at 9:30am and the parade begins at 10am. No registration necessary. Line up is on Wall Street next to the School Administration building. No rabbits or cats please. Kids will receive a keepsake and popsicle.

Then join the rest of the community for our traditional event in Drake Park. The July 4th Festival goes from 11am - 4pm. You'll find craft and food booths, old fashioned games like three legged races, watermelon eating and water balloon contests as well as wonderful live entertainment.

Santa Paws

Annual Fundraiser to Benefit Humane Society of Central Oregon

The Humane Society of Central Oregon’s Annual Santa Paws is a fundraiser to benefit the 4,000 homeless, abused and neglected animals cared for annually by the Bend Humane Society. Don’t miss the opportunity for your four legged friend to meet Santa Paws and have the moment captured in a photograph. This is the purr-fect opportunity to capture the holiday spirit for greeting cards or a treasured gift.

The whole family is welcome to pose with their pet(s), or just your pet with Santa. Festive holiday accessories will be available to adorn your furry friend(s).

Orvis Dog Days (B.Y.O.D. Bring Your Own Dog)

In July Orvis Bend in the Old Mill District will host the Orvis Dog Days. There will be free gifts for the first 200 customers at the store. Customers will enjoy free raffles, commemorative "paw printing," shopping coupons and more. Orvis will also have demonstrations of Acrobatic Dogs, Retriever Trials, a Bird Dog presentation, free seminars on pet grooming, and healthy home cooking for dogs. There are also several contests including the Cutest Dog Photo Contest and the Dog Beauty and Talent Contests. Local pet rescue groups will be on site as well.

Orvis Dog Days will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
 

Oregon Pet Expo

The Oregon Pet Expo is Central Oregon’s largest and premier pet show for consumers. The show is held just 30 miles from Sunriver at the spacious and beautiful Deschutes County Fairgrounds Expo Center in Redmond, Oregon. It is all about dogs, cats, and more.

The annual OREGON PET EXPO is held on a Saturday in October from 9:30am to 4:30pm.
